Spirituality in Science

Whilst spiritual experiences have traditionally been associated with religion, research has shown that the transcendent emotions, sense of connection, and sense of meaning that often define a spiritual experience can be triggered in other, secular settings such as nature, awe and wonder. Our children love our wow science experiments to help develop their curiosity.   Here at St. John’s spirituality in Science is about finding connections between scientific concepts and the larger, more profound ideas about life, the universe, and human existence.  We have discussions with the children about the beauty of our Earth and the mysteries of the natural world.  We believe it is important to ignite children’s curiosity as a journey of discovery.  Science is about exploring the unknown, and that in many ways, science and spirituality both ask big questions about life, existence, and the universe.
