Class Information

Reading

Please make sure that you're listening to your children read each night.  A couple of pages and some simple questions about the text will make a HUGE improvement to ALL areas of their work!

**Whilst we only change books three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)  we keep a daily record on whether the children have read their books or not.  If they read four times a week they move up on our reading wall and will attend the class reading party at the end of every half term....so get reading!!**

PE Kit

Monday and Wednesday - is our PE lessons so please make sure you come to school in your PE kit, no earrings and your hair is tied back if it is long.

Snack

The children at Nuttall are able to enjoy snack each week.  This varies each day from sandwiches, yogurts, cheese and biscuits and dips and celery/carrots etc. The children are hands on in helping to make their own snack which develops their food technology skills.  If you would like your child to have snack it is £1 for the week, this can be paid on a Monday morning.

Homework

Your child will bring a homework grid home. We ask them to choose 1 task to do each week and bring it to school on a Monday.

Maths homework will be set on Purple Mash. The homework will link to what the children have been taught in class each week. If you can not access it please let me know and I will give you a paper copy.

Children will be given spellings every Monday to learn for a test the following Monday.

Children are expected to read at least 4 times a week, this can be either the books we provide from school or by accessing the Bug club.

If you or your child/children are unsure of what to do, please come and see me as soon as possible. A record is kept of whether children complete their homework and reading.

Spelling

Spellings are handed out each Monday, children are to learn their spellings for a test on the following Monday. The children will be provided with a spelling sheet, they must use this to write their spellings out everyday ready for their weekly test.
