Great Harwood St John's CE Religious Education Intent
It is our schools intent that “Where everyone shines with God’s love” based on John 15:12 (My commandment is this: Love each other as I have loved you) is known and understood by the whole school community and is threaded through all our decisions. It is comprehensively inclusive and everyone knows that we accept all children as children of God and everyone is welcome here! Children and staff know that whatever they do God’s love can shine through them. As a result of this high standards are expected and aimed for but there is also an atmosphere of forgiveness and reconciliation where mistakes can be rectified and a new start be given. For some children this has to be done frequently as they learn that while actions have consequences making the right choice does mean that they will be forgiven.
